Beijing Wandong Biggest Supplier Of Imaging Products in China; Shandong Xinhua to Grow Export |

Beijing Wandong Medical Equipment Co., Ltd. is said to be the biggest supplier of imaging products in mainland China, having the biggest market share of the similar products.
In an interview with an editor of Medical & Health Buyers’ Sources based in Taiwan, Ms. Yao Wen, international marketing director of Beijing Wandong Medical Equipment Co., Ltd., said her company has the No. 1 market share in China. The interview was conducted during the four-day show of the CMEF(China International Medical Equipment Fair), held in Shenzheng, Guangdong province, mainland China on April 18-21, 2010.
One of the biggest exhibitors at the CMEF held at the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center, Beijing Wandong Medical Equipment offers permanent MRI system, angiographic & cardiac system, X-ray system, DR and radiographic system.
10 percent of output goes overseas
The international marketing director said 90 percent of Beijing Wandong’s products are sold to the domestic market, with only 10 percent going to the overseas market. “Ninety percent of our products goes to the China market simply because the local market demand is very strong. We do not have much left for the international market,” explained Yao Wen who speaks fluent English.
The 10 percent of Wandong’s imaging product output are shipped to Eastern Europe and the Middle East. The international marketing director projected a 20 percent growth in 2011 in terms of international sales. She said in 2008, her company netted 650 million RMB when the world was hit by economic crisis. However, in 2009, Beijing Wandong registered 700 million RMB as a result of the economic recovery though in slow pace.
Beijing Wandong Medical Equipment Co., Ltd. was founded 55 years ago in Beijing, with a factory area having 100,000 sq. meters in a science park in Beijing. The company was publicly listed in Shanghai 30 years ago. The R&D department is composed of some 120 specialists, according to Yao Wen. Beijing Wandong Medical Equipment Co., Ltd. is an ISO-FDA accredited company.
Asia Major Market for Shandong Xinhua
Founded in 1943 in Shandong province, northeastern China, Shandong Xinhua Medical Instrument Co., Ltd. had one of the biggest booths at the China International Medical Equipment Fair (CMEF) in Shenzhen, which opened at the Shenzhen Convention & Exhibition Center on April 18 and closed on April 21.
Among its main products on display were infectious systems, sterilizers and radiotherapy system which has been available for 30 years. This system has achieved a 30 percent growth annually, according to Tong Yongxu, director of International Trade Department.
China is the major market for products offered by Shandong Xinhua Medical Instrument Co., Ltd., accounting for 90 percent of its total revenues, with the remaining 10 percent being shipped to South Korea, Russia, Thailand, Indonesia, Pakistan, India, Australia and Latin Americas.
The director said his company netted 800 million RMB in 2008, a significant growth over 2007’s 600 million RMB. In 2009, the revenues rose to 1.07 billion RMB. “We are hopeful that our sales revenues at home and abroad would be higher in 2010,” said Tong who has served in the company for eight years.
In exports, Shandong Xinhua registered 45 million RMB in 2007, said the director of International Trade Department. In 2008, exports amounted to 47 million RMB. However, in 2009, export revenues declined to 30 million RMB. “The decline was mainly blamed on the global economic downturn,” commented Tong, who predicted that export sales in 2010 would return to the 2007 level, valued at 45 million RMB.
Strengthening global sales
Shandong Xinhua Medical Instrument Co., Ltd. has a work force of 2,300,of which over 10 percent are R&D people. Currently workers of the company are required to work 10 hours daily so as to increase production to meet growing orders. The company was publicly listed in 2002.
When asked to make comment on the CMEF show, the director of international trade said, “The show is becoming better and better. And the number of foreign visitors and buyers are growing yearly. We have met visitors from Europe, Asia, Africa and Latin America over the last two days.”
The director said his company is determined to enhance international sales in the years to come, adding that subsidiaries will be set up in Iran, Brazil and Ukraine this year. |
