CMEF Medical Fair Overwhelmed By Over 650,000 People in Shenzhen |

Following four days of exhibition at the Shenzhen Convention & Exhibition Center in Guangdong province, the 63rd China International Medical Equipment Fair (CMEF) lowered its curtain on April 21.
More than 650,000 people from China and 100 other countries visited the fair on April 18-21. More than 2,100 exhibitors from at home and abroad participated in the show, displaying their latest medical products and technologies, according to the fair organizer, Reed Sinopharm Exhibitions. Before the opening of the show, more than 10,000 people from over 60 countries had registered with the fair organizer to visit the show.
The products on display were covered in the major categories: CMEF Imaging, CMEF IT, CMEF IVD, MEDISOFT and CMEF Rehabilitation Nursing which was a debut to the show. In addition to products, CMEF Congress, which mainly consisted of academic seminars and forums, was an important element of the fair, with a great many leading scholars, doctors and hospital administrators participating.
15 international pavilions
National pavilions remained to be held. Twelve countries which took part last year returned, including Germany, the United States, Great Britain, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, France, Finland, Turkey, Malaysia, and Denmark. Three new pavilions were added this year: Australia, Israel and Brazil, totaling 15 international pavilions.
There were altogether nine halls for the CMEF show at the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibitions Center. Hall 1 was the biggest, consisting of imaging products, medical electronics and medical optical devices. The second biggest exhibition ground was Hall 2 where national pavilions were located at the international zone. IVD goods and medical disposables were also seen at Hall 2.
Next CMEF in Shenyang
Component manufacturing and design were in Hall 6. Hospital and surgical equipment, and medical IT were found in Hall 9 where Taiwan Pavilion was located. There were more than 50 Taiwan companies participating in the show, including Taiwan companies with manufacturing facilities in mainland China. The remaining halls were for products and equipment from different provinces and cities across China.
The China International Medical Equipment Fair (CMEF) is the biggest fair of its kind in China. Spring and autumn shows are held every year, and it has had a history of 30 years. The next CMEF fair will be held at the Shenyang Exhibition Center in Shenyang on October 12-15, 2010. |
